 Customer Service Assistant

    Shop opening hours are 9am -5pm Monday Friday 9- 1pm Saturdays a variety of regular hours are available

  • Training

    We will provide all the training you need to feel confident in the role. The shop manager will be available give advice and assist you, as well as other experienced volunteers in the team.

 As a customer service assistant, you can help to ensure our customers receive the best possible service and enjoy our shop and what it has to offer. Join our team  and help to make our shop a huge success What skills do you need? We are looking for passionate volunteers who are enthusiastic about Helping the homeless and underprivileged. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to get along with people and work as part of a team. Basic numeracy skills will also be of benefit. What will you be doing? • Talking to customers and making them feel welcome in the shop. • Advising and helping people as they shop. • Operating the till and dealing with various types of payment. • Answering customer enquiries. • Keeping an eye on the security of the shop • Sorting and restocking.   APPLY

Clean washing sorter

 Sort donated clean clothing into different categories, Quality check suitable for Shop. Sort for out of stock item . Out of season stock or stock not required to be boxed as per procedure . Sort shoes and hand bags when required. Remove Buttons for items not suitable for shop ready to be cut up . De-fluff garments.

Volunteer Warehouse Person

    5 - 10 hours a week 

Duties: Sorting and packing of ‘raw’ donations: • Sort donations according to category and quality • Packing, racking and allocating sorted stock into the appropriate areas as directed.

  • Picking stock as per low stock reports

Requirements: • Knowledge and/or interest in fashion and bric-a-brac • Ability to identify clothing genders • Ability to read and write and follow instructions • Willingness to undergo a police check • Enthusiasm, reliability and commitment to the objectives of the HDStreetwise. Time commitment can be as little as half a day a week, with training provided in a friendly and supportive environment.
